All Classes are held at Wind River Yoga Studio unless otherwise noted as PAC (Pinedale Aquatic Center) Monday Night (5:30-7:00 pm) classes are a fluid mixture of ‘Power Yoga” and hot yoga flow. These classes are ever-changing, like life, and are intuitively designed to meet the needs of every participant. We will be guided by the basic beginning movements of common hot yoga series, with a new and exciting twist on the evolution of yoga asana. This class will challenge those who resist change and those who are naturally creatures of habit. Jump out of the ordinary “box” and flow with the breath and sweat with this dynamic, therapeutic and tremendously beneficial class for the mind*body*spirit. All levels welcome. Please bring water & towel. Monday and Tuesday at Noon (12:00-1:00)classes are a fusion of Hatha and Prana Flow Yoga. These classes entail stretching, strengthening and balance postures with focus on body alignment, anatomy of movement, and mindful integration of breath. Some benefits include: clarity of mind, normalized blood pressure, enhanced immunity, better sleep, increased range of motion, and stronger posture. In addition, guided visualization, breath work, and aspects of meditation will be touched on. All levels welcome. These clases are based on the Prana Flow style, by Shiva Rea. "Classes are ritual sadhanas (a groove to one's self). Prana Flow classes are breath inspired journeys that offer a complete spectrum (ha-tha) of rhythms from meditative and rejuvenating to the challenging and empowering. The wave of a class is created through cycles of effective and creative sequences (vinyasas) linked together through the breathwave. Every class is well-rounded : following the mandala of the body and asanas - to create whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, circulation and centering." (2010 Shiva Rea www.shivarea.com) Wednesday Noon (12:00-1:00 at Pinedale Aquatic Center) YOGALATES is an upbeat class that combines the slow controlled breathing and stretching of yoga with the core tightening and strengthening of Pilates.
Wednesday Night (5:30-7:00) classes are basic Hatha Yoga postures that are done in a heated room. This form of Hot Yoga is called ““Bikram Yoga” developed by Bikram Choudhury. It is a series of 26 postures and 2 deep breathing exercises suitable for all ages and abilities. The hot room aids in warming up muscles, preventing injury, strengthen cardiovascular system and cleansing the body by flushing out toxicity. This Yoga scientifically restores all systems to healthy working order by stimulating and toning glands and nerves with fresh oxygenated blood. This type of Yoga has been known to increase energy, prevent illness and injury, promote weight loss, reduce stress & depression, increase self-esteem and enhance one’s overall sense of well-being. Beginners Welcomed. Please bring towel and water. Mats available. Thursday Noon (12:00-1:00) is a beginner-based class for those who want to deepen their connection to breath and awareness to body. We will focus on restorative poses that are held longer with a mindful integration to breath. Each class will consist of breathing techniques, gentle stretches, inversions and a long sivasana (relaxation) -meditation.
